Endeavor

a core abstract method component that models a venture undertaken by collaborating producers performing work units during one or more stages to develop and/or maintain one or more related work products or provide one or more related services

Classification

As illustrated in the preceding figure, endeavors are part of the following inheritance hierarchy:

Responsibilities

The typical responsibilities of an Endeavor are to:

• Fulfill all or part of the mission of a business or one of its organizations.
• Perform business [re]engineering.
• Develop, use, or retire one or more related systems or applications.
• Provide one or more related services.

Guidelines

• Whereas most processes are developed for a single project, some processes are needed to support programs of related projects or even entire enterprises.
