Submission Guidelines

Overview

The official OPEN Process Framework Repository and associated website are open source. As such, their continued improvement and growth depends on the submissions made by process engineers, developers, academics, tool vendors, and others who volunteer their time, experience, and expertise to submit recommended improvements. These improvements can include:

• New method components
• Fixes to existing method components
• Enhancements to existing method components
• Fixes or enhancements to the website and its infrastructure

Whereas all submissions will be appreciated, submissions that consist of complete XHTML, XML, Java, or JavaScript modules that follow current content and format conventions will receive priority in the review and incorporation process. Individuals with significant resources can also volunteer for larger maintenance and enhancement jobs.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions will go through the following process:

• An eternal process engineer makes a submission via email.
• The change control board (CCB) assigns the submission to an appropriate subject matter expert.
• The subject matter expert reviews the submission and makes a recommendation to the CCB.
• The CCB rules on the submission.
• The CCB notifies the submitter as to the disposition of the submission.
• If accepted, the CCB forwards the approved submission to either the repository or website staff for inclusion.
• The repository or website staff incorporate the submission and publish it to the Web.
