Reuse Organization
- Reuse Organization
- any project-independent
organization
that maintains an enterprise-level reuse repository for use by other organizations
As illustrated in the preceding figure, Reuse Organization is part of the following inheritance hierarchy:
The typical responsibilities of a Reuse Organization are to:
- Produce and maintain one or more reuse repositories.
- Identify, evaluate, and obtain potentially reusable work products.
- Prepare and certify reusable work products.
- Support projects within an enterprise by providing reusable work products to the:
- Development organization(s).
- Partner organization(s).
- Subcontractor organization(s).
- Significant reuse typically requires a reuse organization
to run the reuse repositories and to support other
organizations.
- The reuse organization is often a part of the same
business as either the development organization or the
customer organization.
- The reuse organization typically inherits the
common team guidelines from the
organization process component.
