Subcontractor Organization
- Subcontractor Organization
- any organization
that works for the development organization
As illustrated in the preceding figure, Subcontractor Organization is part of the following inheritance hierarchy:
The typical responsibilities of a Subcontractor Organization are to:
- Develop work products for the development organization.
- Deliver work products to the development organization.
- Conform to the process used by development organization.
- Support oversight by the development organization.
- There can easily be multiple subcontractor organizations on a project or program.
- An organization is a subcontractor organization from the
viewpoint of the development organization, not the viewpoint
of the customer organization. In fact, the development
organization is best modeled as a customer organization from
the viewpoint of the subcontractor organization.
- Every project does not involve a subcontractor
organization working for the development organization. Do not
use this organization unless a significant subcontractor relationship exists.
- Partner organizations and subcontractor organizations are
not the same roles, although it is possible for typically
different parts of the same business to play both.
- The subcontractor organization typically inherits the
common team guidelines from the
organization process component class.
