The
content management set is the cohesive set of
work products that may be
produced during
content management activity.
Work Products
The following content management work products are typically
produced during content management:

Content,
which is a
data component (e.g., text, numerical data, static or
animated graphics, audio files, and video movie files) of one
or more
applications that is published (and therefore visible) to
the applications‘
users.

Content Management Architecture Diagram,
which a low-level architecture diagram work product
that primarily documents the content management activity in
terms of its associated databases and software components,
externals, and the dataflows between them.

Content Management Plan,
which formally documents the
content management team‘s plans for performing the
content management tasks.

Content Management Analysis Report,
which documents the results of performing the
content usage analysis task.

Content Metadata,
which is information that describes content such as
keywords, author, expiration date, etc.
Guidelines
- Different endeavors require different processes, which in
turn will require different content management work products,
or no content management work products at all.
- Every endeavor does not require the production of every
content management work product.
- Select only those content management work products that
are appropriate for the endeavor.
- Selected content management work products should be:
- Relevant.
- Useful.
- Usable.
- Cost-effective.
