Operations Work Product Set

Definition

The operations set is the cohesive set of work products that may be produced during the operations activity.

Work Products

The OPF repository contains the following set of predefined metrics work products:

• Operations Manual,
  which formally documents the operations organization’s procedures for performing the operations tasks.
• Operations Log,
  which formally documents the actual performance of operations tasks.
• Product Standards,
  which formally documents the TBD.

Guidelines

• Different endeavors require different processes, which in turn will require different operations work products.
• Every endeavor does not require the production of every operations work product.
• Select only those operations work products that are appropriate for the endeavor.
• Selected operations work products should be:
  • Relevant.
  • Useful.
  • Usable.
  • Cost-effective.
