customer organization)
As illustrated in the preceding figure, Support Organization is part of the following inheritance hierarchy:
The typical responsibilities of a Support Organization are to:
- Staff help desks.
- Staff contact or call centers.
- Provide on-site technical service.
- Notify the development organization of failures.
- Forward change requests to the development organization.
- There can easily be multiple support organizations on a project or program.
- It is possible for the same business to act as both a
maintenance organization and a support organization.
- The support organization typically inherits the
common team guidelines from the
organization process component.
