Business Engineering

The following deployment work products are typically produced during the deployment activity of a business engineering project:

• Business Comunication Plan,
  which formally documents the plans for communicating the customer organization's reengineered business enterprise.
• Business Policies,
  which formally documents the customer organization's policies for operating its reengineered business enterprise.
• Business Procedures,
  which formally documents the customer organization's procedures for performing the processes its reengineered business enterprise.

Application Development

The following deployment work products are typically produced during the deployment activity of an application development project:

• Application Communication Plan,
  which formally documents the plans for communicating the new version of application to it's relevant stakeholders, organizations, and business enterprises.
• Deployment Plan,
  which formally documents the plans for deploying the application to it's production environment(s) and placing it into use by the customer and user organizations.
• Installation Manual,
  which formally documents the procedures for installing and configuring the application in it's production environment(s).
• Release Notes,
  which formally documents a newly released version of the application.

Guidelines

• Different endeavors require different processes, which in turn will require different deployment work products.
• Every endeavor does not require the production of every deployment work product.
• Select only those deployment work products that are appropriate for the endeavor.
• Selected deployment work products should be:
  • Relevant.
  • Useful.
  • Usable.
  • Cost-effective.
